Mindbridge Meeting Wed Feb 5, 2020 at the Penticoff Residence in CR

  4. Convention Reports
    1. Gamicon
      1. About 371 paid pre-regs so far, yea!
      2. Next meeting Sunday, Feb 23, noon, Bowersox’s home (also bag stuffing)
      3. Dealers room is full
      4. Event sign-up is open
      5. Thursday Feb 27: about 5 pm group dinner, then to storage locker then to Marriott
      6. Gamicon is Friday Feb 28-29-March 1, 2020
    2. AnimeIowa
      1. Meeting Sat Feb 8, 2 pm, Coralville Marriott, preceded by a few meeting at storage locker about 10 or 11 AM
      2. Room block is open, rooms are available for Friday and Saturday
    3. ICON
      1. Web site move Sat/Sun Feb 8/9, Mark McKibben, John Johnson and Terri LeBlanc are coordinating.
      2. Staff meeting 1:30 PM, Sat Feb 15, Marriott Willow room
      3. Opening programming for submissions mid-February
  5. Other Projects
    1. Game Library – no game for February.
      1. The game library has been rented by the Coralville Library for three game days.
      2. Only one “tub” (40-50 games).
      3. If anyone is available to assist with running the checking and/or teaching games please let Michele Maakestad know.
      4. The January and February events were well attended.
      5. Saturday, March 7, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, event runs from 10-4.
    2. Book Group: Monday Feb 10th, 6 pm, Panera South Side CR, Santa Olivia by Jacqueline Carey
    3. Video Game Library – no report
  6. Old Business
    1. Gamicon Zinc Bid proposal (Feb 2021) – discussed, moved to approve, seconded and passed.
    2. Secretary was bribed with yummy homemade cookies to mention that a couple of our members are doing a gaming podcast, it’s on iTunes, Spotify, Google https://podcasts.google.com/?q=paper%20pencil%20dice and many more places, see PaperPencilDice.com for more information.
  7. New Business
    1. Board approved buying 500 pin badge holders, Jon will handle.
    2. Mindbridge Annual Treasurer retreat will be at 1 pm on Saturday March 28th at John Johnson’s, this is for Mindbridge Board and Convention treasurer’s to finalize Mindbridge budget for April 2020 – March 2021.
    3. Children of the Corn Sponsorship: board approved $250, asked membership to approve increasing to $500. Moved, seconded and passed with request that they show their robot at ICON and give Mindbridge periodic reports with pictures and/or videos.
    4. AnimeIowa 2021 revised bid proposal (Lyz). Lyz was unable to attend, bid was discussed, Secretary asked for electronic copy of the bid.
    5. Jonathan Cram asked to become a Mindbridge Member, approved.
