MB Meeting Minutes August 1, 2018 at ARC of SE Iowa

  3. Treasurer’s Report – More than last month. Many big bills still to be paid.
  4. Convention Reports
    1. AnimeIowa
      1. About 3,500 attendees; 450 day passes
      2. Charity auction raised over $3,000
      3. Need more publicity/advertising for next year
      4. Postmortem meeting Sep 8, 2 pm, Adventureland Inn

      1. Next staff meeting Aug 4, 1:30 PM at CR Marriott, Willow Room behind the bar
    3. Gamicon
      1. Next staff meeting Aug 19, North Liberty Pizza Ranch 6 pm for food, 6:30 for meeting
  5. Other Projects
    1. Book Group: Monday, Aug 13, Scooters Coffee. Seeing Green by Beth Hudson
    2. Game Library – want help at OnIowa, IMU, Aug 15-18, 9 pm to midnight. Please contact Michele Maakestad if you can help.
    3. Video Game Library – used bar code scanner for check out/in, worked great

    1. ICON 45 (2020) hotel contract approval to sign:
    2. Board said OK to sign for Oct 8-12, 2020 and Oct 14-18, 2021
  7. New Business
    1. ICON 44 bid
      1. Moved, seconded and passed to approve ICON 44 bid by Gregg Parmentier with weekend registration prices raised
      2. Moved, seconded and passed to have a local ICON person have a key to storage locker
      3. Moved, seconded and passed to allow the $500 for ICON social media advertising to also be used for traditional advertising for ICON with the requirement that the ICON survey have multiple choice question about how they heard about ICON
      4. ARC of SE Iowa is doing their Fund Raiser again this year at Kinnick Stadium during home games (Sep 1, 8, 15 and 22, Oct 20, Nov 10,23. If you can help please contact Mariah Simmons at 319-351-5017 or email at mariahsimmons @ arcsei.org
