Mindbridge Meeting Minutes December 7, 2016 at ARC of Southeast Iowa

  1. Call to Order
  2. Minutes – posted online, approved.
  3. Treasurer’s Report – we have money but less than last month.
  4. Convention Reports
    1. Gamicon
      1. Next meeting 6:30 PM Sunday December 11 at Ryan’s home, will be going over room layouts, programming.
      2. Web site is up and running, registrations are coming in.
    2. AnimeIowa
      1. Next staff meeting is 2 PM Saturday December 10 at the Coralville Marriott, they are having a Hot Cocoa Bar.
      2. Need a new treasurer – looking at a team doing it.
      3. Registration is open.
    3. ICON
      1. Business cards are ordered.
      2. Next staff meeting 1:30 PM Saturday December 17 at Coralville Public Library
  5. Other Projects
    1. Game Library – did demo Friday Dec 2 5-8 PM at Hobby Corner in Iowa City, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Battle.
      Next demo will be Friday Jan 6, 2017, 5-8 pm at Hobby Corner in Iowa City
    2. Book Club: Monday Dec 19, 6 pm, Scooter’s Coffee House (Formerly Coffeesmith’s), Uprooted by Naomi Novik
  6. Old Business
    1. Pens and Badge Wallets – Gamicon needs to turn in artwork to D&D Sales soon. Mindbridge pays.
    2. Mindbridge Points – John Johnson put up online forms to enter MB points, please give it a try if you have points to enter. Link is http://iowa-icon.com/Mindbridge/
  7. New Business
    1. RACC (Riverside Area Community Club) looking at doing a “KirkCon” with gaming and Cosplay. Initially thinking in September 2018, March 2018 may be better as it could be plugged at Gamicon.
    2. Geek Food Competition – two submissions, both were very tasty! Graveyard Bones was voted as better by 1 vote.
    3. Voting on Capital Requests
      1. ICON Tech request for $490 plus tax, shipping – discussed, moved, seconded and passed.
      2. AI request – discussed, will be revised, tabled until next meeting
    4. Voting on Video Gaming Project request: Board discussed, recommended reducing annual total from $2500 to $1750. General meeting discussed, moved, seconded and passed as amended.
    5. Rogue One – December 16, 7 pm, Coralridge Theaters. Suggested to buy your tickets early.
    6. AnimeIowa 2018 Bid: presented, discussed. Will vote on at January 4 meeting.
