Mindbridge Meeting Minutes – April 6, 2016 6 pm The ARC of Southeast Iowa

  3. Treasurer’s Report — we made money in March.
  4. Convention Reports
    1. AnimeIowa
      1. Next staff meeting: Sat Apr 9 @ 2pm, Coralville Marriott.
      2. Sending reps to AnimeDetour and AnimeCentral, willing to take flyers for the other conventions, need by Apr 12 for Detour and by next MB meeting for AC.
      3. Lost one exec, have possible new junior member
    2. ICON
      1. Next staff meeting: Saturday April 9, 1:30 PM, Coralville Public Library room B
      2. UI Library having Star Trek Gallery from last week of April until August.
    3. Gamicon
      1. Next staff meeting: Sunday April 17 @6:30 pm at Ryan Smith Burns in Coralville.
      2. Shawn expects to be signing the contract tomorrow (4/7/2016) for Feb 2017.
      3. Website coming but not there yet.
      4. Saturday April 30 – International Table top Day at The Hobby Corner, noon until 4 AM.

    1. Game Library — The Hobby Corner Friday, May 6th , 5-8 pm, Legendary (Civil War theme).
    2. Book Group – Monday April 11 th, 6 pm, Coffeesmith’s, Twilight Eyes by Dean Koontz.

    1. Ban Policy final review and vote. (Adam) – tabled until next meeting.
    2. Storage Locker Cleanup this Saturday, 10 am Coralville Quality Care Storage, 761 Camp Cardinal Blvd. Coralville, IA 52241. Their hours are 6 AM to 10 PM on Saturday. map is at http://iowa-icon.com/misc/QCS-map.html

    1. Lawyer, (Tom Bowersox recommends Nidey, Erdahl, Tindal & Fisher PLC.) They are out of Cedar Rapids and he says that at least a few of the partners there would be interested in talking to us.     2. Nonprofit Management Academy (Jon handouts). Moved, seconded and approved to spend money to send interested Mindbridge members to several of the classes.
    3. Zombie March will be September 24 – board approved $400 to support the Zombie March again this year.
    4. laptop/tablet for AI publications – Adam moved capital expense for new laptop for AI pubs be moved to AI budget rather than be purchased by MB. Seconded and approved by board.
    5. Marriott points discussion by JJ, up to each convention at this time.
    6. Demicon in Des Moines April 29-May 1
    7. Des Moines Wizard World May 13-15, 2016
    8. The Hobby Corner is interested in doing registration bags for ICON, Gamicon – should MB look at also sponsoring with MB logo(s) on the bags, will be discussed with THC.
    9. Moved and seconded and approved to approve Mary Cox and Kristina Frick as MB members.
