Minutes for July 6th Mindbridge Meeting

  1. Call to Order
  2. Minutes from June Meeting were not read, but are posted on the Mindbridge list and web site.
  3. Highlights from the Treasurer’s Report were read.
  4. AnimeIowa Report
    1. AI happening soon! Much excitement. Last meeting this Saturday, July 9th at Coralville Merriot Convention Center at 2:00 pm. All AI staff should be present.
  5. ICON Report
    1. Plans to begin meeting once each month from now on. Much planning!
  6. Gamicon Report
    1. Guest News! Jay Jummelson from Rio Grande Games!
  7. Other Projects
    1. Game Library — Will be present at AnimeIowa.
    2. Book Group — July 25th at Coffee Talk Café at 6 pm. They will be discussing One for the Morning Glory by John Barnes.
    3. Film Group — June 10th at the Bryon Stump home at 6:30 pm. They will be viewing Special.
  8. Old Business
    1. Clarion Write-a-thon. We will be donating $400. Cath will post contributing Authors on the list and members can suggest which ones we would like to put our funds under for their scholarship fund.
    2. Trek Fest — It happened and was reasonably successful. It will continue.
  9. New Business
    1. We owe ASCAP from music usage at last year’s AI. We are paying it. We will probably owe for music usage at this year’s AI and this year’s ICON. We will be paying for those as well.
    2. The Board is currently working to approve next year’s Mindbridge budget and should be posting it soon.
    3. Storage Locker clan-up is done and much has been improved. New Uniform Totes, Better Organization, and Better Labeling.
    4. We are planning to send used paperback Star Trek books and any other donated books to Joplin, Missouri for Flood shelters. See Steve Tate if you’d like to donate at info@mindbridge.org.
    5. New Mindbridge Members inducted. Returning member, Andy Wheeler and new member, Meghan Bygness.
