Minutes for March 2nd Mindbridge Meeting

  1. Call to Order
  2. Minutes from December Meeting were not read, but are posted on the Mindbridge list and web site.
  3. Highlights from the Treasurer’s Report were read.
  4. Gamicon Report
    1. Final Report — 218 attendees
    2. Good Weather, but lost $400.
    3. Next Meeting March 6th at 8:00 pm in North Liberty. For directions contact Jon Maakestad.
  5. AnimeIowa Report
    1. Next meeting — This Saturday, March 19th at 2:00 pm at the Coralville Convention Center.
    2. Still have staff positions open. Volunteers?
  6. ICON Report
    1. Ramp-up Period. Finalizing Guests. New Website coming soon!
  7. Other Projects
    1. Game Library — Next Meeting April 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Lower Iowa City Park in the enclosed shelter.
    2. Book Group — March 7th at Coffee Talk Café at 6 pm. They will be discussing Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by David Sedaris.
    3. Film Group — March 25th at the Shannon Ryan home at 6:30 pm. They will be viewing The Princess Bride.
    4. Mindbridge Annual Meeting coming up in May. More info soon at Mindbrige.org.
  8. Old Business
    1. Mindbridge starting to look into permanent office space again.
    2. Seems like $5,000 to the Cedar Rapids Library for chairs isn’t enough now. This donation is currently on hold.
  9. New Business
    1. Considering cooperation with the new IC Geeks group. Promoting their activities and attending.
    2. New Member voted in Jim Castlebury, he’s a biologist!
