Minutes for May 5th Mindbridge Meeting

  1. Call to Order
  2. Minutes from April Meeting were not read, but have been posted on the Mindbridge list and web site.
  3. Treasurer’s Report was read.
  4. AnimeIowa Report
    1. Slightly ahead on pre-registrations this year, currently 1109
    2. Meeting Saturday, May 8th at the Coralville Convention Center
  5. Icon Report
    1. Preregistration now open $45, $55 at the door
    2. Fan Guest of Honor Selected — Susan Leabhart
    3. Artist Guest Selected — Daniel Dociu — Guild Wars Artist

  6. Gamicon Report
    1. Still in the Memorial Union next year.
  7. Other Projects
    1. Preplanning Committee — nothing to report.
    2. Game Library — No report, except for a few new games added.
    3. Book Group РBook Group will be meeting at 6:00 pm on May 24th at Coffee Talk Caf̩. They will be discussing Little Brother by Cory Doctorow.
    4. Film Group will be meeting at 6:30 pm on May 21st at Denny Lynch’s home. They will be watching and discussing Escanaba in da Moonlight.
  8. Old Business
    1. Annual Membership meeting will be on May 22nd at noon in a picnic, cook-out format at Picnic Shelter #9 Lower City Park in Iowa City.

    2. New Board Member — Michelle McKibben!
    3. Nominations for At Large Board Member were taken.
  9. New Business
    1. AI Trademark Report — We move forward.
    2. We begin to look toward purchasing a commercial database management system for our convention registrations.
    3. We once again vote to sponsor the Iowa City Zombie March coming this Fall.
    4. Storage Locker Clean-Out! Saturday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at the North Liberty Storage Locker.
