The Mindbridge Book Discussion Group met this evening at the Coffee Talk Cafe in Cedar Rapids to discuss The Yiddish Policeman’s Union. Our general consensus was the book was good but in spite of winning the Nebula Award, it was not a Science-Fiction novel. Cath took notes of the discussion and posted them over at Writer Tamago. Did anybody else out there read the book? If so, what were your thoughts?

And don’t forget to mark your calendars, as we’ll be meeting next month to discuss The Dead Zone by Stephen King on June 9th.

• June: Flex month. The group decided to deliberately leave this month open to allow the addition of some new masterwork of sci-fi/fantasy that may come out between now and then.

• August: The Eyre Affair by Jaspar Fforde
• September: Mort by Terry Pratchett
• October: The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
