Mindbridge Membership Meeting Minutes May 17, 2025

  1. Treasurer’s Report (Jon): Up $26 hundred
  2. IT Officer (Tony): n/a
  3. Storage Manager (Carhoff Alliance): Contact Jenny about the new key for the storage lock
  4. Convention Reports-All conventions are looking for additional help.
    1. AnimeIowa (July 24th – 27th, 2025)
      1. Reg closes May 31st
      2. Cosplay/Masquerade opens Sunday May 11th
      3. Updates:
        1. Formal Ball 10-11:30 on Saturday
          1. Formal and black tie encouraged
          2. All Ages
          3. Cosplay
        2. Rave 12-2pm on Saturday
        3. No Drag or Burlesque in place there will be Karaoke

    2. ICON (ICON 49.5 – Oct 11th 2025/ICON50-2026)
      1. Information distributed at DemiCon to possible ICON attendees and authors.
      2. Darby Harn indicated he is willing to be the ICON author GOH at no cost. Waiting for approval from
      3. Cheshire Moon is planning to attend and perform on Saturday night.
      4. Still interested in someone to host karaoke on Saturday night.
      5. Iowa City Book Festival is interested in a joint public event with attending SF authors.
      6. In discussions with FilmScene Refocus Film Festival for a Friday night film.
      7. Next meeting is Wednesday, May 21, 2025, 7 pm. It will be online only. The link will be posted to the ICON Discord
      8. Would like to have the book group have their meeting at ICON

    1. Willis Buckles passed in the past month
    2. Graduation Reception/party/cookout/gameday/hangout thing for Rhi Sunday, May 25 Come by, wish Rhi well, eat, play games and visit.
      1. Iowa City, City Park, Shelter #8 (The brown enclosed one in the center of lower city park.)
      2. 10am-after supper sometime. We have the shelter until 11pm, but probably, maybe won’t stay quite THAT late.

    1. Lost and Keegan would both be interested in the board position: Lost is the Board Member until 2027

Next meeting will be Wed June 4th ,2025 @ 7pm online and in person at the ARC in Iowa City ARC 2401 Towncrest Dr 2401 Iowa City, IA. Across the street from the church of the Nazarene, two blocks from the old building.
